On Wednesday 27th Move-mber, we were delighted to welcome PhD students from the University of Aberdeen to our school. The students are members of Aberdeen University’s brain imaging research group. We have been enjoying regular ‘Drop Everything and Dance’ sessions every day. This pupils spend a few minutes exercising when music is played throughout the school. Our teachers have noticed the positive effect this has on concentration levels.
The scientists helped our pupils conduct their own investigation to see the science behind how exercise improves concentration and brain activity. The conclusion was that regular bursts of exercise throughout the day have a positive impact on our pupils. The pupils are now writing up their reports which will be shared here once they are completed. Thank you to Dr John Thomson, Sam and Rosie’s Dad, for organising this.
