This is the fourth year that our Primary 7 pupils have completed a Science Investigative Project on an area of their own choice. The pupils will practise their investigative skills be researching, planning and completing an experiment. Pupils have the choice of either working by themselves or in pairs.
First the pupils come up with a scientific question. Click on this link to find out their questions – Primary 7 Questions
The pupils then complete background research before coming up with a hypothesis of what they think will happen. They take responsibility for resourcing their experiment and planning their method of testing. They then identify a variable, record the results and write a conclusion. Each team then has the challenge of presenting their work to the class, their parents and the rest of the school as part of our Middleton Park Science Fair. The winners will go forward to Aberdeen City Council’s Science Fair.
Each year we are always very impressed by the quality of the pupils’ work and each year the standard is higher. As you can see in the photos below, our Primary 7 leaders take their Science Investigations very seriously and their creativity, positive attitude and resilience are to be commended.
