Middleton Park Cycle Event – 22nd September

We have two routes for our Sponsored Cycle Event.  Nursery children and  P1 – 7  also have the option of cycling with the Get About Team in the playground on their fantastic selection of bikes.

This is the P1 – 3 route.  It is almost one mile long and pupils can choose to scoot or cycle.  It will be well manned with marshals and we will finish back in the playground.

P1 - 3 Cycle Challenge

This is the Primary 4 – 7 Cycle Route.  The main route is 3 miles with the option of a 1 mile extra loop that can be done as many times as energy and / or time permits!
image001Many thanks to Michael and Lauren P7, Sam P6 and Rosie P4 for being part of our risk assessment team and to Will Hekelaar ,Enterprise Planning and Infrastructure, Don Kent from Nestrans, John Thomson and Graham Watson for their expertise and help.

We are working closely with traffic management to ensure that all roads that have to be crossed have plenty of signage and marshals.  Signage will be posted on the day before the cycle to give prior warning, particularly to the public who regularly visit the Moor.  Residents on the P1 – 3 cycle will have flyers posted to alert them to the fact that our younger pupils will be scooting or cycling past their doors!

City Wardens will be in school on Wednesday 16th September to give Road Safety talks to all classes.  A Bike Doctor will be in school on Monday 21st September if anyone would like to have their bike checked.

This is a fantastic opportunity to have our whole school active as part of our Health and Wellbeing programme.  Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs Watson if you have any queries.
